The county town of Essex, Chelmsford is found on the Can and Chelmer rivers, roughly 32 mls from the city of London. Chelmsford boasts a populace of about one hundred and eleven thousand occupants, and the Borough of Chelmsford has about 168,300.

Chelmsford moved into some decline during the nineteen-eighties, when a lot of its industry went bust, though it continues to be a successful and expanding town today, primarily due to the nearness to the capital, and its excellent road and rail communications.
