Essex's county town, Chelmsford can be found on the rivers Chelmer and Can, a driving distance of about thirty two miles from the heart of London. Chelmsford has a population of about one hundred and eleven thousand inhabitants, whilst the Borough of Chelmsford has about 168,300.
