The county town of Essex, Chelmsford is positioned upon the rivers Chelmer and Can, some thirty two miles from the heart of London. Chelmsford boasts a population of roughly one hundred and eleven thousand people, and the Borough of Chelmsford has approximately 168,300.

As long ago 13th Cent, Chelmsford took on the title of county town of Essex and in addition became the seat of the local assize.
